Donald Trump talks about the future of elections, and the Republican Party
He said that they wanted him to run again based on every poll. However, he added that they would take a look at it and see what the results are. “First steps first, we have to see what we can do with the House. I believe we have a very high chance of retaking control of the House.
The former president indicated that he believes Republicans could also win back the Senate as long as they have “better leaders”.
He said, “And frankly we’ll make our decisions [on 2024] afterwards.”
Trump explained to voters that the coronavirus vaccination was developed and distributed by Trump’s presidency. While Biden has destroyed energy independence and border security, Republicans can look forward with optimism.
“When you add it all up, I think we’ll do very well in two years and I think we’re going to do very well in four years.” Trump and Republican lawmakers raised concerns about the Democrats’ election regulation bill (the For the People Act), and agreed that it would be a “disaster for our country.” Trump stated that if the legislation was passed into law, Republicans would have a difficult time being elected to future offices.
“It would be very unfair,” he said. “The Democrats used COVID to do things they couldn’t believe they could get away with… These changes were not approved by the state legislatures. Therefore, they’re not allowed.”
